Why are People are trying to reproduce on purpose, while there are kids in orphanages in poor places who need to be adopted?

Near where I spend my weekends, there is beautiful countryside all around, But when you go a little farther away, you see the rapidly encroaching developments heading towards us. There's 6 lanes full of traffic most of the time each way on Rt 3 coming closer and closer to the amazing countryside in Orange. VA. What on earth are people thinking when they keep having kids? How could someone possibly conclude that there aren't already more than enough of us??? If you really want to have kids, why not adopt instead?
